Just a quick update: Trey has his 3 month follow-up scans this Tuesday --> Friday at Strong (3 radioactive scans + an MRI). Hopefully no surprises. We'll know more next week. Keep him in your prayers.
On February 26, 2009 our 9-month old son Trey was diagnosed with neuroblastoma - a rare cancer of the nervous system.
Trey's tumor was in his upper chest, specifically growing along the sympathetic nerve running along his spine. On March 17th, surgeons at Strong Memorial Hospital perfromed a thoracotomy, removing a significant amount of the tumor. The follow-up MRI showed that the remaining piece of tumor - while small - was still active and located in a very tricky spot, having grown into his spinal canal. So on July 7th, Trey began chemotherapy to try to eliminate or at least stop any further growth of the tumor tissue that remained.
This site has been set up by Tim and Brandy to keep our family and friends up-to-speed on how Trey is doing and what our plans are to get him cured.
